Legislative Advocacy in Action

Since the 2016 Legislative Session, the Coalition has organized testifiers to Senate and House Education and Higher Education Committees about the Increase Teachers of Color Act.  These students, parents, teachers, aspiring teachers and teacher educators have made powerful statements about the need for those in power to support our proposed policies and strategic investments. 

 

Throughout the years, one constant has been the partnership, leadership and advocacy support from the state ethnic councils (MN Council on Latino Affairs, Council on Asian-Pacific Minnesotans, Council for Minnesotans of African Heritage) and the MN Indian Affairs Council.
